Christmas is not without it’s delights when you’ve got a 2 year old daughter and a 5 month old daughter, but in my house we were all battling a bit with various virus cold/sinusy ailments and looking forward to all getting better and starting a brand new year. Unfortunately just as the New Year began, my dad has suffered an upsetting incident.
Somewhere between the evening of Sunday 4th January 2015 and the morning of the 5th, my father Roger had a shed broken into. They were obviously looking to steal garden equipment but realised that once they had carefully removed a glazing pane to enter, they could release the shot bolts holding the fixed side of the twin doors and swing the mortice locked doors open. They stole his 1990 Yamaha RD 350 LC YPVS F2, which was my first real performance road bike when I was 18. He really enjoys it as it’s lightweight and quick and comfortable.
We’re looking at security now of course, too late. At least we might prevent a repeat performance.
I’ve posted a message on a motorcycling forum, but it’s highly unlikely it will produce anything.

Hope that you recover it, but as you stated–unlikely, If there is a good side to this, at least it wasn’t any of the race bikes. My rule is NO windows. Gives the maggots a preview, and too easy access,

Yes, at least it wasn’t any of the race bikes. I can’t imagine what we’d be feeling now if they’d taken his Scott. I can’t really think about it. Anyway, crying in our tea isn’t going to help anyone so we just have to make sure that we do what we can to make sure it doesn’t happen again and call it a lesson learned. I agree with the windows idea, I took them out my own workshop. It’s like an oversize insulated coffin…
